David~
My name is David, I’m an ex-dairy farmer and I am 55 years old. That’s OK because I feel like I’m 35 now. It wasn’t always that way however.
Six years ago I was 75 pounds overweight, had severe sleep apnea, snored like a freight train, limped badly because of arthritis in my left knee, and was diagnosed with ED and Farmer’s Lung Disease mainly stemming from an incident from a mold exposure while farming.
Sure, all of these conditions didn’t all come at once, but as time went on different symptoms and conditions kept popping up. Hypertension, retaining fluids in my ankles, sore and tender feet, and rashes and sores where I sweat was also causing some concern.
My health and life was spiraling downhill fast. All the activities like sports, dancing, and motorcycling came to a stand still because the pain in my joints was so bad. Our social life also took a downturn as I was tired all the time and because of that I was probably not very good company.
The intimacy in our marriage was taking a toll. With the constant loud snoring, excessive weight, and problems with ED our romantic life was suffering badly.
Our children suffered as well. When we went on a vacation, staying in one room was impossible with me gasping for air from the sleep apnea or the noise from the loud snoring. It’s hard to have fun when you’re always in pain.
My deteriorating health and our dissatisfaction with the so called “health care” industry is one of the things that prompted my wife Patti to become a professional health and wellness coach AND am I glad she did!
Patti researched the issues I was having and helped me get a handle on what I needed to do to start turning my health around. She helped me make a plan, set goals, gave me motivation, and most of all held me accountable for the steps I was taking. We talked as client and coach about ½ hour a week to review my progress. We celebrated what worked and revamped what didn’t.
I found out that becoming healthy involved a lot more than just diet and exercise. It included my mindset, strengthening my faith, reducing stress, and getting quality sleep. With resources and information that Patti gave me, I could see what was working in my life and what needed improvement. I really felt like I was finally going to make some progress.
I can see now that having a Health and Wellness Coach is so important. Without a knowledgeable person encouraging and guiding you it is very tempting to not work as hard or just give up. They hold you accountable to your actions because ultimately it’s all up to you.
My reason why was big enough and I now have a healthy body to show for it. Except for choosing to lose another 25 to 30 pounds, ALL the issues I stated previously are gone! I am on NO medications and my last physical showed that ALL my tests were in normal ranges.
I thank my beautiful wife, Patti, for sticking by me when things were looking down and for my lovely health and wellness coach for getting me back on track to a happier, healthier me!

I think most of us understand the role of a coach, and the importance of their job to a team. A coach guides their team to success. When we think of the word coach, we mostly think of sports, right? Well how about thinking of nutrition and well being?
I have suffered from ulcerative colitis challenges about 20 years. I was eating only white rice, chicken and during severe bouts, a liquid diet was recommended by health care professionals, as well as prescriptions and corticosteroid suppositories to control the symptoms. I was at the end of my rope. After all, this was not how I saw the rest of my life being played out.
Flare-ups are distressing. They change all of the normal rhythms of life and often necessitate days off from work or school, and changes in social or family plans. Severe flare-ups can cause nutritional deficiency or dehydration from diarrhea, and can lead to hospitalization so that the condition can be controlled.
The next step for me would have been a procedure called a colectomy. However, this means that a permanent external bag to drain the stool is needed.
Patti guided me to health through nutrition and dietary supplements. She showed me how to choose foods that my body really needed. By sending me articles and information, she has given me knowledge of what foods my body needs and what foods come with a warning label.
One year later, I am eating so many different foods, and guess what? I have not taken a prescription drug since my journey back to wellness began. The test results show NO signs colitis is present!! I feel liberated!!
Patti has taught me that wellness is a balance in body, mind and spirit, that point in time where the body systems are operating at peak efficiency, that point where you experience a powerful sense of well-being. I would strongly recommend to anyone, to do your own research, be your own advocate, and God-willing find a “coach” that will guide you back to the road of health and well–being.

After five years of wondering what was wrong with me, it culminated when one weekend after a ten hour car trip I was so sore I couldn’t even move.
I saw my chiropractor, who did what he could and then recommended seeing my doctor. I saw my doctor, who recommended a soft tissue massage expert. The soft tissue expert, after weeks of therapy, sent me to a neurologist. Then another specialist for multiple sclerosis and eventually I was diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS in 2003.
I was then put on muscle relaxing pills and something to help me sleep. The stress kept mounting in my life and I felt awful most of the time. I was still going to work every day, but I was in so much pain, I’m sure all my co-workers thought I had one foot in the grave. I had urinary tract infections every few months and had to be on antibiotics. Once I even ended up in the hospital for it. I had no energy left and it felt like I was in total system shutdown.
Then, my co-worker, Patti, became my health coach and things began looking up. Her researching articles, working with me to dramatically change my diet and helping me exercise was the beginning of my recovery. I began eating more vegetables and a lot less sugar. I gradually went off the muscle relaxing pills with the guidance of my doctor and am no longer in pain. My endurance has increased; I don’t need naps every day and can tolerate full days of work.
It has been a year and a half since I’ve had a urinary tract infection. I don’t have the digestive, and bladder control issues I had in the past. I am still struggling with the effects the MS and the medication left on my walking and balance, but we have now embarked on a new exercise program that I am confident will allow me to throw away my cane.
The road back to wellness takes patience and persistence. But having a naturally healthy life again is priceless.
I would recommend Patti’s coaching services to anyone with any type of chronic challenge.

I am a 59 year old male Desk Jockey that was not happy with what gravity had done to my body.
I had constant pain in my hips and knees for no apparent reason. I didn’t sleep well and when I did, my wife complained about my snoring. I didn’t want to be 25 again, just be able to do some yard work and play with my grandkids without paying for it for days afterward.
Many times over the last few years I would have good, no, great intentions to get to work on my deteriorating condition. I would exercise for a few times, watch what I ate for a short time, then fall right back into my old habits. I had no motivation to stay on a course of action to change my appearance. I didn’t like myself very much.
Enter Patti Olson. Patti started by showing me some literature on my condition, letting me see that I was not alone with these issues. She also took a look at my supplements and recommended some products that would help me maintain my energy level so I could meet my goals. Her favorite two words are “baby steps”. Even if you take it slow that’s OK. Remember the turtle gets there, too.
It took years for me to get “out” of shape; it will take time to get back “in” shape. In the short few months that Patti has been working with me, the pain is gone in my legs and I sleep better than ever. Most importantly, I feel better about myself. I know that I can reach my goals.
When I finish my exercise routine, I have a smile on my face and the self confidence knowing that I am going to succeed. It is not going to happen overnight, but it IS going to happen.

Three years ago I was seemingly healthy and then I went through a series of traumatic family events.
My health deteriorated due to being a care giver to so many others. I suddenly had breathing difficulties and was diagnosed with adult onset asthma. I took the medicine that was recommended and did improve. I was told by my health care provider that I would need to be on that medication for the rest of my life.
Because the side effects of the medication were of great concern to me, I did not want to be on it the rest of my life.
I had thought I was doing pretty well by myself with my nutrition goals. The only thing is I wasn’t consistent and I was always putting others ahead of myself. I would get frustrated with myself and then think next time I will start becoming more nutritionally informed. The next time came and went with each holiday, birthday or season. Finally, I knew I had to take charge of my life.
In discussing this with Patti she supported and encouraged my thinking that it was entirely possible to be naturally healthy. She supplied me with articles, resources and supplement recommendations. She helped me to see how nutrition plays a vital role in my health. I started changing some lifestyle habits. I changed my diet, my way of thinking and started an exercise program.
I used to get respiratory infections at least twice a winter, lasting weeks to a month or more. I now breathe effortlessly and clear and without the use of medications!!
My health coach has made me see that I’m important and that any step forward is a step to be proud of. By recognizing that small steps lead to a life change and that by pursuing them I am making my dreams a reality for myself. I got my natural health back. I highly recommend a Health Coach for you. You will be glad you did. Take my challenge and give it a try. Be good to yourself.

I began to have severe headaches that interfered with my concentration at work, my attitude, and my joy.
After work, it was all I could do to get the kids from daycare and get home so I could go to bed. In one month, for example, at the peak of the headaches, I had them every day for one month. The doctor I saw, who specialized in migraine headaches, told me I would most likely always have them. At this time my blood pressure averaged 158/89.
Patti Olson became very concerned that I was prescribed medication and it still wasn’t working. She coached me in an exercise program that consisted of strengthening and cardio workouts. She also provided research, books, websites and materials on the benefits of low sugar, preservative free diets that included whole, fresh foods. She also suggested that I start taking a supplement that is readily absorbed by the body. In addition, I began to pray, take authority over my body and strengthen my faith in God.
Within a month my blood pressure was 120/70, and only getting a headache a day before my cycle. Within a year I was no longer getting headaches not even the day before my cycles!!!
I can spend time with my family and enjoy my days and evenings now that I am healed of these problems.
